Under the Veil of Reality

This is not the AI Driven-Era

I just experienced another podcast from a self-proclaimed tech “expert” talking about AI job loss like it’s a meteor headed for Earth.

You know the script:
😱 “AI will cause job collapse”
😱 “Entry-level jobs will vanish”
😱 “We must tax the robots”

Pause.
This isn’t news. This is fear and blame.

And here’s the kicker: I said this 15 years ago. Not the fear — the opportunity.
Back then, as a futurist, I asked:

💬 What if we gathered — all generations — and actually created the future of work together?
🐚 What if we listened to kids and elders?
🧸 What if AI freed us from manual work to spend more quality time with children, instead of squeezing more hours out of adults?
🪬 What if tech freed us to build, not just comply?

But that wasn’t scary enough to trend. It wasn’t cynical enough for headlines. It didn’t sound like “thought leadership.” It just sounded: way too human. Really, involve kids in defining what the world would like when they become the future? And consider how our wise elders stay engaged instead of being shoved aside?
