Being normal is over-rated for where we are headed in 2020 and beyond

Ah, the giddy delights of life.

Who doesn’t want to live to the fullest and crave the good life, but then what happens when the story we were told was the good life doesn’t actually meet our needs?

So much depends on how we approach life, and our relationship with life — whether we let our darkness box us in, or our light show us the way. Are you a hopeless romantic, a curious adventurer, or a jagged cynic?

Much of life is about relationships and knowing which people and relationships are healthy and which are unhealthy for us; shifting from the limiting beliefs of which people are good or bad for us. Imagine asking yourself: is this person or relationship, healthy or unhealthy for me?

We have been taught to be normal. The Oxford dictionary defines normal as “conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern” and “according with, constituting, or not deviating from a norm, rule, or principle.” There are abundant philosophies of normalcy but that’s not the point of this conversation. The point is to be clear about what is it that you crave and dream of being during your life.
